There exists a way to gain enormous insight about any pressing matter without any expense but your time and discipline: regular meditation.
As you speed through your day with a hundred things on your mind, sometimes it’s a challenge to maintain focus. Scattering one’s energy is an epidemic in today’s fast-paced world.
In order to gain greater clarity of mind, you must detach from your conscious mind, making time to do it through meditation.
Get up 30 minutes earlier if you lack the time, or eliminate that which is no longer serving you, such as excessive TV watching.
To put the practice of meditation in perspective, think of what would happen if you were mountain climbing. Your world shrinks. In other words, your focus is exclusively on the space 3 feet above you, and 3 feet below you. Nothing else matters at that time. It’s like you take a mini vacation from your affairs—this is one reason climbing is habit-forming.
It’s the sort of mind-set you accomplish through regular meditation (also habit-forming). You’re able to completely forget about everything else on your mind, literally detach from all of your concerns. 20-30 minutes, once or twice a day, is all it takes.
Sharpening your perception through regular meditation allows you to more easily distinguish if a new potential hire, friend, business partner, or romantic interest is right for you or not, thus reducing your risk.
