Witness the cyclical nature of life by paying attention to Mercury retrograde, and you can even reduce your risk a little bit by sidestepping related problems.

Hallmark themes of this astrological occurrence include taking care of unfinished business from the past, communication problems, delays, and a general lack of clarity.

See this page for a thorough list of Mercury retrograde features and timetable.

As explained in the linked page above, the approximate three weeks before Mercury retrograde includes more difficulties than the actual retrograde period.

Mercury retrograde September-October 2015 details:

1. Mercury goes retrograde 9-17-2015 at 11:09 a.m. PDT, 15 degrees 55 minutes Libra.
2. Mercury goes direct 10-9-2015 at 7:57 a.m. PDT, 00 degrees 53 minutes Libra.

Being aware of Mercury retrograde helps you understand the cyclical nature of life and even reduce your overall risk by avoiding Mercury retrograde traps.

A temporarily distorted sense of discernment, travel delays, miscommunications, and revisiting unfinished business are common Mercury retrograde themes.

See this page for a lengthy list of Mercury retrograde characteristics, along with a Mercury retrograde general timetable.

As noted in the linked page above, the two to three weeks prior to Mercury going retrograde seems to include more related challenges than the actual Mercury retrograde period.

Mercury retrograde January–February 2015 details:

  1. Mercury goes retrograde 1-21-2015 at 7:54 a.m. PST, 17 degrees 05 minutes Aquarius.
  2. Mercury goes direct 2-11-2015 at 6:57 a.m. PST, 01 degree 18 minutes Aquarius.

Mercury Retrograde June 7 2014 to July 1 2014

Observe the circumstances in your life during Mercury retrograde, a periodic cosmic event, and witness the cyclical nature of life.

Mercury retrograde June-July 2014 details:

  1. Mercury goes retrograde 6-7-2014 at 4:56 a.m. PDT, 3 degrees 10 minutes Cancer.
  2. Mercury goes direct 7-1-2014 at 5:50 a.m. PDT, 24 degrees 22 minutes Gemini.

You can reduce your overall risk by being a little more careful with your important communications and transactions during Mercury retrograde periods.

This bar graph includes the June-July 2014 Mercury retrograde period, along with other basic astrology phenomena.

Find out more about the phenomenon of Mercury retrograde here and here.

Here is a Mercury retrograde general timetable, from the linked pages above for your convenience:

  1. My findings show that the phase before Mercury retrograde (17-28 days before Mercury goes retrograde, which is June 7th this time) is more challenging than the official retrograde period in regards to the general conditions listed below.
  2. The first 11-12 days (i.e., the collapse phase) of the actual Mercury retrograde period typically represents a breakdown of outworn beliefs and previously made plans.
  3. The last 11-12 days of the average 24-day Mercury retrograde period are easier than the first 11-12 days; it characteristically consists of rearranging and finalizing plans.
  4. Completely new, important plans, offers, investment ideas, and so on tend to be more trustworthy about two weeks after Mercury goes direct, instead of before or during the retrograde period.

Here is a list of Mercury retrograde basics, common circumstances, and characteristics from the linked pages above for your convenience:

  1. Miscommunications and misunderstandings are hallmarks of Mercury retrograde, as are the other points below.
  2. Reviewing early life issues and past failures, healing, then finally leaving the pain behind you.
  3. Attempting to rekindle a love relationship from the past, and then coming to your senses later and abandoning it.
  4. Reconsidering travel to a certain location, an idea you had previously put on hold.
  5. Difficulty making progress landing new clients and customers.
  6. Spending a lot of time on existing clients and customers, and those from the past.
  7. Solving long-standing problems in your personal and professional life.
  8. Difficulty making headway on your to-do list.
  9. Travel delays and interruptions in commerce and trade.
  10. Scheduling conflicts.
  11. Mercury rules thinking and mental acuity, in part, thus Mercury retrograde (an afflicted Mercury) can represent skewed perception.
  12. Meeting someone new, thinking him or her to be a fabulous prospect (personal or business related), then after Mercury retrograde wondering what in the world you were thinking.
  13. Dismissing previously cherished ideals.
  14. Falling for too-good-to-be-true schemes, your own or other people’s–be very careful with high-risk endeavors during Mercury retrograde, especially if the investment, offer, or idea is entirely new.
  15. Phenomena in astrology and numerology like Mercury retrograde don’t make anything happen or influence anything. But they do symbolize and represent life circumstances (collectively). As above, so below.
  16. Mercury retrograde is only one of many possible afflictions in astrology and numerology. Although it’s more noticeable than others, multiple factors, not single considerations, symbolize key events in your life.
  17. Mercury as a major player and, or retrograde in your comprehensive charts equates to the above-listed circumstances being more important to you.

Following universal phenomena including Mercury retrograde, particularly in conjunction with your personal charts, allow you to limit your risk and make the most of the rewarding trends in your life.

Mercury Retrograde 6-26-2013 to 7-20-2013

Mercury retrograde is merely one of many astrological dynamics to consider in a comprehensive analysis, but it’s one of the more obvious cosmic occurrences as it relates to everyday life.

Mercury Retrograde June/July 2013 Details

  1. Mercury goes retrograde 6-26-2013 at 6:07 a.m. PST, 23 degrees 06 minutes Cancer.
  2. Mercury goes direct 7-20-2013 at 11:22 a.m. PST, 13 degrees 21 minutes Cancer.

You can lessen your risk by paying a little more attention to the important goings on in your life in conjunction with Mercury retrograde.

Mercury Retrograde 2-23-2013 to 3-17-2013

Monday, February 18th, 2013

Although Mercury retrograde is only one of many astrological factors to consider, it is one of the more noticeable celestial phenomena as it relates to everyday life.

Mercury Retrograde February/March 2013 Details

  1. Mercury goes retrograde 2-23-2013 at 1:41 a.m. PST, 19 degrees 52 minutes Pisces.
  2. Mercury goes direct 3-17-2013 at 12:03 p.m. PST, 05 degrees 37 minutes Pisces.
  3. Mercury transits the sign of Pisces 2-5-2013 to 4-13-2013. Mercury is in detriment (in the sign opposite it rules) in Pisces; it is symbolically weakened, in a bad state.
  4. Mercury being in a sign in which it is debilitated, in addition to being assailed by Mars until early March, exaggerates Mercury retrograde related difficulties.
  5. Mercury gets some help in other ways, such as mutual reception with Jupiter by rulership, but it’s like Mercury is inebriated, stumbling down the sidewalk during this retrograde. Heightened frustration—in this case from about mid February until about mid March–is more common under these Mercury retrograde related circumstances, especially in regard to making progress with new projects and endeavors.

Important: be very careful of high-risk ideas, such as investment opportunities, that you encounter during Mercury retrograde periods (including the three to four weeks leading up to when Mercury goes retrograde) because your perception after the Mercury retrograde period is likely to be very different.

For example, around February 15, 2013 someone approaches you with what appears to be an extraordinary financing opportunity to expand your business. Due to your schedule, you can’t act on the prospect until early April, but by the end of March (after Mercury retrograde) you decide against it because you realize it’s so risky it could set your business back years, or even ruin it.

Please see this blog post and the linked posts within it for more information about Mercury retrograde to help you minimize the risk in your business and personal life.

2013 Astrology Bar Graph: Retrogrades, Eclipses, and Select Transits

The Bad News

Sporadic astrological occurrences like retrogrades, eclipses, and transits comprise only a very small part of a thorough system of checks and balances.

A thorough system is necessary to achieve consistently high accuracy rates involving personality analysis and prediction of personal fate.

In order to establish a thorough system—and you won’t find one in any available software program–you must commit to learning the languages of fate (astrology and numerology), which are as complex as any foreign language.

In other words, the astrology you’ve been exposed to, including the basic phenomena in the bar graph included in this article, is all but negligible relative to the collective energy of hundreds of cyclical timing factors (most of which are uninterrupted and non-sporadic) and personal indicators used in comprehensive astrology (and numerology), as with my personal systems of analysis.

Universal trends, such as retrogrades, eclipses, and transits, are always general trends, unlike the patterns in an individual’s comprehensive charts, which acutely symbolize personal fate and personality.

The Good News

By tracking the astrological happenings in the bar graph below, you can still get a sense of the cyclical nature of life, and even gain enough insight to help mitigate some of the challenges in your own life.

2013astrology.basic.infrequent.cycles.bar.chart(click on image above to enlarge)

Please see last year’s (2012) bar graph and important, related information here.

Please see this article for information about basic astrology factors, such as those included in the above bar graph.

Please see this article for information about Mercury retrograde.

Please see this article for information about eclipses.

Although the exact same significance of any given universal phenomenon (e.g., lunar eclipse, Mars in detriment, Saturn retrograde, etc.) doesn’t apply to everyone, the key is to understand how each universal happening intermingles with your personal configurations.

Being alert to the collective symbolism in your personal charts, and to some degree being mindful of universal occurrences, allows you to limit personal and business related risk.

Mercury Retrograde 11-6-2012 to 11-26-2012

Thursday, November 1st, 2012

Tracking Mercury retrograde can allow you to see firsthand how astrological phenomena represent real life happenings.

Please see this blog post and the linked posts within it for more information about Mercury retrograde.

Mercury Retrograde November 2012 Details

1. Mercury goes retrograde 11-6-2012 3:03 p.m. PST 04 degrees 18 minutes Sagittarius.
2. Mercury goes direct 11-26-2012 2:47 p.m. PST 18 degrees 10 minutes Scorpio.
3. Mercury entered the sign of Sagittarius, in which it is debilitated (symbolically weakened) 10-28-2012 11:18 p.m. PDT. It remains in the sign of Sagittarius until 11-13-2012 11:42 p.m. PST, the first seven days of Mercury retrograde, all but three days of the first half (the more challenging half) of Mercury retrograde. This symbolically makes the usual challenges of Mercury retrograde more pronounced.
4. One positive is that while Mercury is transiting the sign of Sagittarius, it is in mutual reception by rulership with Jupiter. This emblematically mitigates some of the usual challenges referred to above.
5. Another positive is that three days after Mercury begins its transit of Scorpio on 11-13-2012 11:42 p.m. PST its sign ruler, Mars, is exalted in the sign of Capricorn (11-16-2012 6:36 p.m. PST), which helps to representatively fortify Mercury during the second half of Mercury retrograde.

All in all, expect the days leading up to 11-6-2012 when Mercury is about to go retrograde, through the first half of Mercury retrograde to include more noticeable related complications, as outlined in the linked posts above.

Aside from the typical communication mix-ups and other Mercury retrograde related problems, during Mercury retrograde it’s common to find yourself doing these things:

  1. Re-living in your mind important parts of your early life, and a healing breakthrough could take place.
  2. Thinking that maybe your relationship with that certain person could be rekindled (then later regret wasting time on it again).
  3. Mentally re-visiting your past career challenges and failures to finally fully resolve the issues in your mind, express gratitude for the learning experiences, and leave them behind for good.
  4. Re-considering a visit to a foreign land, an idea you had previously shelved.
  5. Unable to make serious progress with new business contacts.
  6. Consumed with business matters and clients from the past.
  7. Gaining new clarity about a long-standing problem and devising new viable solutions.

Being aware of common universal occurrences such as Mercury retrograde, especially how they intermingle with your personal configurations, can allow you to witness the cyclical nature of life and can even help you limit the risk in your business and personal life.

Mercury Retrograde 7-14-2012 to 8-7-2012

Monday, July 2nd, 2012

Transits, retrogrades, eclipses, and other infrequent universal factors are modifiers only, and possess minimal symbolism compared to your comprehensive astrology (and numerology) personal natal and timing configurations.

Still, it’s a good idea to recognize such episodes, especially how they transpire in conjunction with your unique charts because they offer a sufficient introduction to the cyclical nature of life, and can even assist in helping you to avoid some of life’s complications.

Just as with other universal factors, Mercury retrograde never holds the same exact representative impact for everyone. This blog post addresses the phenomenon of Mercury retrograde, as does this blog post.

Mercury retrograde July 2012—August 2012 details:

1. Mercury goes retrograde 7-14-2012 at 7:16 p.m. PDT, 12 degrees 32 minutes Leo.

2. Mercury goes direct 8-7-2012 at 10:40 p.m. PDT, 01 degree 25 minutes Leo.

3. The pre-retrograde period, outlined in the first Mercury retrograde blog post linked above, lasting 17-28 days before Mercury goes retrograde, started approximately mid to late June 2012. All in all, I’ve found this pre-period to be more challenging than the actual retrograde period.

4. The first half of Mercury retrograde (the “collapse phase,” phrased in the blog post linked above) runs from about 7-14-2012 to 7-26-2012.

5. The second half of Mercury retrograde runs from about 7-26-2012 to 8-7-2012.

6. Mercury remains in the sign of Leo throughout this retrograde. Although Mercury is not dignified (empowered) in the sign of Leo (a fixed, masculine, fire sign), it is not in detriment (debilitated) either. Thus, it is peregrine. Refer to Mercury’s ruler, in this case the Sun, for more information.

7. The Sun rules Leo; it is dignified in the sign of Leo. The Sun enters the sign of Leo 7-22-2012 at 3:01 a.m. PDT, and remains there until 8-22-2012. During this time, Mercury’s health is improved despite the affliction of retrograde, since the Sun is its ruler while in the sign of Leo, and the Sun in Leo is dignity (potency) of rulership by sign.

Basic things to keep in mind about Mercury retrograde: Since the planet Mercury symbolizes perception, interaction with others, travel of all kinds, buying and selling (commerce), and more, associated disruptions, delays and miscommunications are to be expected during Mercury retrograde. Reviewing the past, dismissing previously valued concepts and ideals, and realizing new solutions are common occurrences.

The best way to take into consideration a retrograde planet (or any other indicator) is to weigh it as a single sign, one of many, then look for patterns of corroborating indicators in your personal comprehensive charts.

Although the same exact things don’t happen under each universal phenomenon, general recurring themes are perceptible.

Universal factors, especially the challenging phases, routinely show the regular tempo and cyclical nature of life and they can be identified well in advance.

It’s easier to track celestial goings-on through visual graphs, such as with this bar graph.

In addition to witnessing the cyclical nature of life, an awareness of select universal factors and how they associate with your personal comprehensive charts allows you to enhance your life and reduce your risk.

Mercury Retrograde 3-12-2012 to 4-4-2012

Transits, retrogrades, eclipses, and other sporadic universal factors are modifying agents and marginal relative to your comprehensive astrology (and numerology) personal natal and timing configurations.

However, I believe it’s a good idea to be aware of such occurrences, particularly how they transpire in conjunction with your unique charts because they offer an adequate introduction to the cyclical nature of life, and can even assist in helping you to avoid some of life’s complexities:

It’s important to note that, like other universal factors, Mercury retrograde never holds the same exact emblematic impact for everyone; these two blog posts address the phenomenon of Mercury retrograde:

Mercury retrograde March 2012—April 2012 details:

1. Mercury goes retrograde 3-12-2012 at 12:49 a.m. PDT 06 degrees 49 minutes Aries.
2. Mercury goes direct 4-4-2012 at 3:11 a.m. PDT 23 degrees 50 minutes Pisces.
3. The pre-retrograde period (outlined in the first Mercury retrograde blog post linked above, lasting 17-28 days before Mercury goes retrograde) started approximately mid February 2012. Generally, I’ve found this pre-period to be more challenging than the actual retrograde period.
4. The first half of Mercury retrograde (the “collapse phase,” as I phrase it in the blog post linked above) runs from about 3-12-2012 to 3-23-2012.
5. The second 11-12 days of Mercury retrograde runs from about 3-23-2012 to 4-4-2012.
6. Mercury slides back into the sign of Pisces 3-23-2012; Mercury in the sign of Pisces (detriment) is an additional affliction, so this Mercury retrograde is likely to be a little more problematic, overall.

Basic things to keep in mind about Mercury retrograde:

As the planet Mercury represents perception, interpersonal interaction, business and personal travel, buying and selling (commerce), and more, related interruptions, delays and miscommunications are to be expected during Mercury retrograde. Reviewing the past, previously valued concepts and ideals falling to pieces, and coming up with fresh solutions tend to be frequent themes.

The best way to take into consideration a retrograde planet (or any other indicator) is to weigh it as a single sign, one of many, then look for patterns of corroborating indicators in your personal comprehensive charts.

Universal factors, especially the challenging phases, routinely show the regular cadence and cyclical nature of life and they can be identified well in advance.

Do the same exact things happen under each universal phenomenon? No, but noticeable themes show up time and again.

An awareness of select universal cycles and how they relate to your personal comprehensive charts allows you to make the most of your life and reduce your exposure to risk.

Mercury Retrograde Follow-up: 3 More Details to Consider

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011
Share Button

As outlined in this blog post, the planet Mercury goes direct April 23, 2011 at 3:04 a.m. PDT after being retrograde since March 30, 2011.

Three additional points to consider regarding Mercury retrograde:

1. Although the second 11-12 days of Mercury retrograde symbolize more reliable, workable new ideas and plans, these tend to be related more to those notions that collapsed during the first 11-12 days of Mercury retrograde.

For example, for months you had planned to hire additional salespeople for your business, but the idea fell apart during the first half of Mercury retrograde and then during the second 11-12 days morphed into your new inspiration to hire additional public relations personnel instead.

2. Entirely new ideas tend to be more reliable at the approximately two-week point and beyond after Mercury goes direct. In this case, your thoughts and impressions are symbolically entirely free of Mercury retrograde energy as of about May 7th 2011.

3. Be wary of your perception of the new people who enter your life during the span of time from approximately two weeks before Mercury retrograde, to when Mercury goes direct. In this case, it is roughly March 15 2011 to April 23, 2011.

The more important Mercury is in your natal comprehensive charts and the more important transiting Mercury retrogrades are to you, the higher the chance your perception is conspicuously distorted in regards to new acquaintances during this period.

For instance, attempting to hire new staff or initiate new romantic relationships in your personal life can be exasperating. “How could I have viewed that person so differently than I see them now (after retrograde period)?” or “I can’t believe I overlooked that red flag!” are typical frustrations.

Tracking universal phenomena such as Mercury retrograde and discerning how they associate to your unique comprehensive natal and timing charts allows you to reduce your overall risk and make the most of the rewarding trends in your life.
