Answer:
You mention, “people who have the same house placements,” but offer no other information. How many, and of what type? The actual house placement of a heavenly body is only one factor of many.
The odds of encountering someone with the same Sun sign placement are 1 in 12, as you may realize. There is insubstantial significance to such a connection, considering the fact that the symbolism of any given indicator is made stronger or weakened by the other hundreds of indicators.
By the way, I recommend avoiding Sun sign astrology because it’s ultimately an exercise in futility.
You would find it more worth your while to look for shared heavenly bodies in angular houses (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th), which is a prelude to identifying the most potent heavenly body (not the Ascendant ruler) in a person’s comprehensive charts.
You may also find numerology comparisons interesting. The “birthday paradox” shows there’s a 99% probability that two people will share the same month and day of birth with 57 randomly chosen people. The odds of two randomly chosen people born on the same day, month, and year are only about 1 in 28,500.
