Astrology: Mercury Secrets Revealed

Deciphering the unique symbolism of Mercury in a person’s comprehensive astrology charts gives me a lot of knowledge about his or her personality and personal fate.

Perhaps you’re familiar with the astrological phenomenon called Mercury retrograde. While knowledge of it can give you an idea of the cyclical nature of time, further delving into the nature of Mercury is one good step toward achieving consistently high accuracy rates in personality analysis and prediction, allowing you to limit your risk.

Below I list select Mercury secrets and features.

  1. Mercury is either feminine or masculine based on the sign it’s in. It’s also either naturally benevolent or malevolent depending on circumstances. Mercury is different than most other heavenly bodies—it’s mutable and inconsistent. It rules the signs of Gemini and Virgo and is also exalted in the sign of Virgo. Mercury in the sign of Sagittarius or Pisces (notice the opposite of the signs it rules and the sign in which it is exalted) is unfavorable, but that energy can be symbolically mitigated. The negative or positive energy of any given indicator is decreased or supported by the energy of the other hundreds of factors.
  2. Mercury symbolizes interpreters (of all types), business people, merchants, bankers, accountants, writers, attorneys, scientists, scribes, orators, teachers, designers, younger brothers, education, record keeping, conversation, brilliance, innovation, shrewdness, cleverness, common sense, knowledge, fluctuating circumstances, and youth. It can also pertain to magic (e.g., alchemy), astrology, and philosophy.
  3. Mercury can also symbolize liars, hypocrites, criminals, thieves, nasty rumors, insincerity, cunning, fabrication, bluff, deceit, and duplicity.
  4. The most potent heavenly body in a person’s comprehensive charts (it isn’t the modern astrology “chart ruler,” the Ascendant ruler) and everything connected to it offers a wealth of information. When it’s Mercury, the person is much more likely than average to be moody, changeable, erratic, impulsive and, or volatile. However, they can also be very versatile, quick-witted, insightful, and brilliant, depending on other factors.

Mercury is well worth investigating in the comprehensive charts, as it relates to character, personal timing, and personal fate.
