Life Purpose: Get Insight For Free–3 Tips

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

Discerning your life purpose isn’t easy. You must objectively assess personality strengths and challenges, motivations, work habits, personal dynamics, compatibility with various careers, and much more. There’s also the spiritual angle you must keep in mind, which includes your personal fate, karma, and unique timing.

One approach includes hiring an expert to help you identify appropriate life purpose scenarios: http://scottpetullo.com/blog/2011/01/q-a-life-direction-and-purpose/

Alternatively, you can get a lot of insight by yourself, for free, with these three options:

1.    Every day, keep asking yourself, “What is the best next step in regards to my goal…(for example, of finding an appropriate livelihood)…” Post notes around your home to remind yourself to keep this inquiry at the forefront of your consciousness. In asking yourself repeatedly, you’re not only asking your conscious mind, but your subconscious and your higher-self or super-conscious mind.

2.    Meditate on your inquiry, every day. Although it may not be easy to begin to effectively meditate or to practice regularly, it’s worthy of your time and effort to make a commitment to it. Meditation helps to get you (your conscious mind) out of the way so you can more objectively deal with the issues at hand.

3.    Download the free version of Direct Your Destiny: http://www.holisticmakeover.com/. Within this e-book you’ll find a Psychic/Meditative State Script, which can greatly help you effectively meditate. It includes preparation tips and instruction: a step-by-step guide to entering a meditative state, finding answers, and gaining awareness.

Rarely, if ever, does an authentic quick-fix solution to any of life’s dilemmas exist. However, patience and discipline, in conjunction with the advice above will help you to come out on top.

Your Real Sign Hasn’t Changed and 11 Other Astrological Truths

Monday, January 17th, 2011

Last week, news stories were circulating about an astronomer who claims to have made a discovery about “…restoring the original Babylonian zodiac.”

He asserts, “Your sign has changed.”

This is false.

Every so often I hear about such a “discovery,” but it’s nothing new.

Astrologers have been acknowledging precession for approximately 2140 years, since Hipparchus discovered the precession of the equinoxes.

Precession involves the seasons, such as the winter solstice on approximately December 21, beginning a little earlier every year.

The Aries point, which is the intersection of the celestial equator and the ecliptic (path that heavenly bodies, the Sun in this case, take across the sky, as seen from Earth), moves slightly backwards each year. The change is about a degree every 70 years. There are 30 degrees in each of the 12 astrology signs.

This discrepancy is reflected in the Sidereal zodiac, but not the Tropical zodiac, which is the dominant zodiac used in Western astrology.

11 other, related points are listed below.

1. Just as the usage of 13 signs was considered in the very early days of astrology and the model of 12 signs prevailed, 13 numbers on the standard clock was considered, but 12 prevailed. This doesn’t mean that it’s 13 p.m. and not 1 p.m. tomorrow, an hour after Noon, obviously.

2. It’s pointless to begin using a 13th sign of the zodiac (“Ophiuchus”) because systems of astrology have been developed over thousands of years using 12 signs, not 13.

Astronomers and others calling for the “…zodiac signs to be overhauled because they are no longer accurate,” are invited to put aside the Sidereal zodiac (related to astrology) and consider the Tropical zodiac, like astrologers have done since Ptolemy in the 2nd century AD. In studying the merits of the Tropical zodiac, they will see that there is no need for an “overhaul” or a 13th sign, and that your Sun sign has not changed.

The vast majority of even the most basic astrology chart calculators on the Internet are already based on the Tropical zodiac, and most Western astrologers employ the Tropical zodiac, which includes 12 signs.

3. A person born under a Gemini Sun today using the Tropical zodiac, has a Gemini Sun, just as a person born under a Sagittarius Sun has a Sagittarius Sun. Natal charts aren’t affected by precession.

4. Precession affects the calculation of transits and solar return charts (which are minor factors anyway), for example, but not many other, much more important cyclical timing methods. Besides, you can still adjust Tropical solar return charts and transit charts (and other precession-affecting methods), and many astrology programs already do this for you.

5. The Sidereal zodiac does pre-date the Tropical zodiac. However, it’s archaic and shouldn’t be used as a primary zodiac.

Sidereal zodiac (the zodiac of the constellations) advocates will tell you, “…but Sidereal is the ‘oldest astrology,’ it’s the basis for Hindu astrology!”

It’s also the basis for other ancient forms of astrology, including Babylonian, and this is not to be confused with other forms of ancient Babylonian prediction, which aren’t based on astrology (Sidereal or Tropical based) as we know it.

Furthermore, Babylonian, Chaldean, and Greek astrology predate Hindu (otherwise known as “Vedic,” “Jyotish,” and “Indian”) astrology, and evidence shows the Hindus borrowed heavily from these cultures.

6. Using the Sidereal zodiac stems from a time when they had limited understanding of the dynamics of the solar system, and this planet.

The Sidereal zodiac is based on fixed stars, and this is where the problem is. I value fixed stars, but not in the way that the Sidereal system uses them (fixing the degrees of the Ecliptic to fixed stars).

The Ascendant (Rising sign), in my opinion, is where the Eastern horizon intercepts the Ecliptic. This is so in the Tropical zodiac system, but not the Sidereal.

7. You won’t find your “real” (Sun) sign, “real” Ascendant/Rising sign, “real” Moon sign,” or any other sign by using the Sidereal zodiac.

8. The origins of the actual astrological horoscope (horoscopic astrology), which includes the Ascendant/Rising sign, etc. is traced back to Hellenistic Egypt (about 330 BC – 30 BC).

Prior to this time (when the Hindus and others adopted horoscopic astrology), my findings show that most ancient systems of astrology were heavily laden with fables, folklore, and myths.

9. Although the foundations of astrology were established thousands of years ago, it was in Hellenistic Egypt that the science began its climb to its pinnacle, which transpired in the Middle Ages.

However, since the 1700s AD or so, astrology has been in a serious state of decline. Almost all of the “astrology” of today, including Sun sign astrology and “horoscopes” isn’t authentic astrology. It’s mere poetry and entertainment, comparable to fortune cookie insight.

10. Regarding yourself only as a “Pisces” or a “Cancer,” for example, is cheating yourself. You’re a collection of symbolic energies that includes the Sun in whichever sign it was in at the time of your birth, but to identify yourself as a single sign is too limiting.

Also, you might just be associating yourself with the weakest and most hindered part of your basic horoscope.

For instance, if you have natal Sun in Aquarius (Sun in detriment) in the 12th house (a weak house), and your Sun is assaulted by a few different malefic heavenly bodies/factors to start, celebrating the Sun in Aquarius with a tattoo of the sign of Aquarius on your body is like rejoicing in baldness (“look, my hair is thinning! Love it!”), and wearing a tattoo of a bald guy. Even worse would be if you had Sun’s ruler (in this case Saturn, in ancient astrology Saturn rules Aquarius) also in bad health.

If you insist on identifying with one specific sign, locate the most potent heavenly body in your comprehensive charts (very often it’s not the ruler of the Ascendant/Rising sign, by the way, and the “chart ruler” is not automatically the ruler of the Ascendant/Rising sign) and the sign it’s in and focus on that. Chances are, it’s not the Sun.

11. Did you know that the Sun changes signs every year at different times and days, within a few days?

For example,

September 22, 1987 at 1 p.m. PDT the Sun was at 29 degrees, 16 minutes Virgo.

September 22, 1988 at 1 p.m. PDT the Sun was at 00 degrees, 01 minutes Libra.

September 22, 1989 at 1 p.m. PDT the Sun was at 29 degrees, 46 minutes Virgo.

Another example:

March 21, 1966 at 2 a.m. EDT, the Sun was at 00 degrees, 10 minutes Aries.

March 21, 1971 at 2 a.m. EDT, the Sun was at 29 degrees, 58 minutes Pisces.

March 21, 2009 at 2 a.m. EDT, the Sun was at 00 degrees, 45 minutes Aries.

Another example:

January 20, 1957 at 9 a.m. EST, the Sun was at 00 degrees, 16 minutes Aquarius.

January 20, 1971 at 9 a.m. EST, the Sun was at 29 degrees, 51 minutes Capricorn.

January 20, 1977 at 9 a.m. EST, the Sun was at 00 degrees, 24 minutes Aquarius.

It’s important to correctly calculate the details of your personal astrology. More information and clarity about “cusp” birthdays here: http://scottpetullo.com/blog/2010/05/born-cusp-freak-myth-reality/

Although basic astrology can serve as a fair introduction to the science, comprehensive astrology and numerology, along with handwriting analysis are very effective tools for self-understanding.

These forms of personality delineation and prediction also serve in helping you make the most of your life, avoid more of life’s challenges, and reduce your overall risk.

Q & A: Life Direction and Purpose

Wednesday, January 12th, 2011

Question:

“I want to know more about the cycles of my life, my karmic lessons. I want life direction and truth. I want to know the purpose of this incarnation. What am I suppose to learn in this life. I want to know the finer points defined, not ambiguities like the ones I’ve been procuring from books.”

Answer:

Please see this blog post about outlining one’s life purpose, and a link within it that leads to my Life Purpose Package:
http://scottpetullo.com/blog/2010/11/qa-housewife-career-womanhow-predict/

I’ll address your individual concerns below.

1. Cycles of your life

Everyone has 100s of personal time cycles operating at any given time, not to mention the universal cycles and how those have to do with your natal and timing charts.

To tell you about the energy of each one would take a very, very, long time. What’s much more important is the collective energy of all your time cycles and how they relate to any given area of your life.

This is how I operate: I focus on specific issues you convey to me (vs. “tell me everything you see”). I interpret the overall energy of the patterns of my systems of analysis (http://scottpetullo.com/systems-of-analysis.shtml) relating to the matters on your mind.

2. Karmic lessons

These aren’t as cut and dry as you may have been led to believe. Everyone has multitudes of unique challenges, select few are sometimes represented by the “karmic lessons” in basic, modern numerology, but most others aren’t. The Life Purpose Package is a fabulous way to gain a solid understanding of all your strengths and weaknesses: http://scottpetullo.com/lpp.shtml

3. Purpose of this incarnation, what you are supposed to learn in this life, finer points defined, etc.

Again, see the link above for Life Purpose Package.

In my view, the best way to accurately identify personality strengths and challenges is through handwriting analysis in conjunction with comprehensive astrology and numerology. Also, comprehensive astrology and numerology serve to outline spiritual matters, such as personal fate and karma.

New Moon-Solar Eclipse 1-4-2010: 5 Tips

Monday, January 3rd, 2011

January 4, 2011 at 1:02 a.m. PST a New Moon and solar eclipse occurs at 13 degrees 38 minutes Capricorn.

At the time listed above, the height of the New Moon-solar eclipse universal energy, the Moon and the Sun are exactly conjunct (at same degree and minute).

By sign, the New Moon and solar eclipse energy began when the Moon entered the sign of Capricorn, 1-2-2011 at 11:38 p.m. PST. The Moon is in the sign of Capricorn until 1-5-2011 8:07 a.m. PST.

Also, the energy symbolizing eclipses is present up to a couple weeks prior to and a few days after the exact conjunction (solar) or opposition (lunar).

What does this eclipse signify for you? Maybe a little something, but not much in and of itself.

Eclipses, like transits, retrogrades, progressions, etc., are intermittent astrological factors. Sometimes they are transpiring, and most other times they are not. They are only useful to the astrologer to help refine an existing, thorough appraisal based on more comprehensive, unremitting methods.

Eclipses and other minor universal factors also serve as reminders to look more closely at a particular area of a subject’s life through more complex charting methods.

For example, if this eclipse occurs very close to your 10th house cusp, which is an angle (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th cusps) and one of the more potent parts of real-estate of the basic natal chart, you’ll want to look more closely at 10th house matters (career, job, status, public affairs such as honor or scandal, et al.). It’s a signal to examine any related patterns in the comprehensive charts.

Another benefit of tracking universal indicators such as these is that you’re able to more closely identify with the cycles of time, thus possibly even get more out of life while reducing your exposure to risk.

5 tips regarding eclipses:

1.      Solar and lunar eclipses almost always occur within a couple weeks of each other.

2.      Lunar eclipses are always during a Full Moon and solar eclipses are always during a New Moon.

3.      Focusing exclusively on eclipses or any other minor astrological factor while avoiding assessing the more important indicators in a person’s comprehensive charts (and wondering why nothing momentous transpired during the eclipse) is like putting all your focus on the earmuffs you’re wearing, for example, while blissfully walking around nude outside in the cold and wondering why you’re freezing. But they are pretty earmuffs, aren’t they?

4.      By and large, lunar eclipses represent culminations, and solar eclipses represent new beginnings, if supported by other factors. The closer in degree an eclipse is to any particular heavenly body, house cusp, etc., the more important it is (as a supporting consideration).

5.      Pay closer attention to any important dealings (speculations, investments, etc.) during eclipse energy, as a greater amount of overall misperception is common.
